Lodè

Lodè is a town of about 1500 inhabitants in the hills of the Upper Barony, which unfortunately, like many other towns in inland areas, has suffered the sad phenomenon of depopulation in recent decades.

The cantu a tenore of Lodé is well known and appreciated throughout the island because it is the home of Pietro Nanu (Preteddu), one of the greatest singers of the last century.

Lodè’s people, even though Pietro is no longer there, continues to sing at very high levels both in relation to the quality of the voices and the originality of the interpretations, and still today represent an excellence in the world of cantu a tenore.

In Lodè the guttural voices of bassu and contra have a very strong local character and accompany the melodious boghes in the singing of boche 'e notes, ballos and mutos.

Census

The number of singers surveyed is 43. This number is probably lower than the real number, as many inhabitants now live in coastal centers such as, for example, Olbia.
